Anisha & Joe

There are a lot of reasons why I love weddings. Although funny thing is despite loving weddings so much, I on the other hand never wanted to get married. A wedding blogger who never wanted to get married. Now do you see the pun behind ‘Epo Kalyanam’ 😉? I get asked a lot over how I came up with the name Epo Kalyanam. It was always right there in front of my nose. Rather in my ears all the time 😉 . My fellow women kind hitting their 20’s will feel me for sure 😏.

Today’s bride and wedding is one that reminds you of why people get married. For love and nothing but love ❤️. Now let’s go meet our stunning couple, shall we 😄?Meet our radiant bride and her dashing man, Anisha and Joe.

For their engagement, our belle stepped out in one of my favourite colours- red. An Indian celebration truly isn’t complete without this colour and it is immensely popular for what it symbolizes- love, prosperity, happiness. Anisha chose to go with a beautiful red velvet gown from Zatin Designers, Kochi with gold and kundan stones etched to the waistline along with an inverted tear drop cut at the back. The open keyhole back is a perfect example of how cutouts can be alluring without being overly revealing.

Her beautiful skin like makeup was done by her very own aunt who owns Colleen Spa, Kochi. Isn’t it amazing when you have family members stepping in to make your day even more memorable?

Having a rapport with your MUA long before the stress of the big day is very crucial. This allows the bride and the artist to relax and work together in harmony. And it cant get any better when you already have that rapport 😍.

For the engagement, Joe chose to go with a grey toned suit from Raymonds, Dubai. I personally love that he chose to wear a red shirt to match our stunner. A man who looks out for his bride even in his attire. Can he get more sweeter than this? He sure scores on the groom-o-meter🔥.

Their wedding is my personal favorite. I love brides in any ensembles. Be it a sari, gown or lehenga, the bride is the prettiest in what she loves the most. Anisha looked pretty as a picture in this beautiful cream silk saree from Jayalakshmi, Kochi. She wanted something classic and elegant and fell in love with this saree the minute she set her eyes on it. Goes to show, when you know, you just know ❤️.

What really put together this entire look is the stunning antique jewellery she picked out. Our belle was specific on wanting antique jewellery and that conviction paid off.  A lil tid bit about her jewellery shopping. Anisha walked in and out with all of this gorgeousness she’s sporting from Bhima Jewellers, Kochi in 15 minutes.

Now that is a rare bride indeed 🔥.Funny thing is even the shopkeepers were astonished – they’ve never had a bride finish her jewellery shopping in such a short span of time 😄. What I’d give to see their faces because truly a snappy and fast bride when it comes to making choices is a rarity. Our gorgeous truly is a unicorn bride 👰.10

If you look closely, you’ll see that the Jimmki Kammal (had to slip that in 😎) is one with a twist. I love that the drop earring has a little gold ball at the end too. Very different from the ones I’ve usually seen. And not to forget, all of their pretty-ness were captured by the talented Tuesday Lights, Kottayam.

By now, my love for lotuses is no secret. Anisha walked down the aisle holding this gorgeous pink lotus bouquet done by Shijus Decoration, Tiruvalla. Doesn’t it just illuminate against her beautiful cream saree?

To fit the bride, our groom was dressed up in this dapper royal blue suit paired with a white shirt along with a deep blue tie from Raymonds, Dubai. I truly do think  ‘blue is the new black’. It is synonymous to versatile. Now the biggest dilemma when it comes to suits is ‘what’s the best combination with a blue suit’? Your blue suit against a white shirt punched up by an awesome blue suit, sure is a sight to behold if you ask me 💪.

For the décor, they chose to go the old school route. They went with theme of quaint blue and white all over with a few flowers sparingly here and there. I love how  simple they chose to keep it.

Time for my absolute favorite – Couple Fact. Our beautiful couple have been going on strong for nearly 8 years. From high school sweethearts, to man and wife. Quite the sweet culmination, if you ask me 😍. Being able to marry a man, who holds your heart, truly is a privilege and it was such a joy to see our belle gushing over her dapper man.

Something that really stood out to me was our belle mentioning ‘even now, he mesmerizes me’ and I melted right away 😍. It reminded me so much of this saying ‘fall in love young and grow old in love’ ❤️. Sending this adorable duo, much love and good spirits their way 😘.

And as always, if you have any questions for me regarding this post or otherwise, you know what to do 😃. Don’t forget to show us some love on our Instagram handle    @epokalyanam and Facebook page   @epokalyanam.blogAnd please feel free to drop me in a message if you love what you read and see. Lots of ❤️,

Elza
