Today’s bride is someone very special and close to my heart. I came across this bride who was trending on social media and I immediately knew I wanted her to be featured here. So with a little bit of stalking skills in hand 😎, I found her and instantly we clicked. This bride is exactly like JOY from the movie ‘Inside out..Check out her video that conquered the internet by clicking here.
Now this stunning ‘doe eyed’ beauty is a wedding bloggers dream come true 😍. She had a total of 3 events prior to the wedding and with the final event culminating into the D’ day. Meet our gorgeous bride ‘Christina’ who conquered the internet with her ‘Save the Date’ video and her very own ichayan ‘Dilu’. Psst, for those of you wondering, ichayan is one of many endearments Christian brides call their better halves.
Now, their love story started officially on a cold December a year back. Christina for her orpikal picked out this gorgeous midnight blue floor length A-line evening gown from Utsav ,Kochi. The dress features an embroidered floral design on the sheer- illusion bodice that shimmers with crystal beaded accents . This A-line gown, also has a sweetheart lining that shows through the illusion . And check out that captivating sheer back. I love it when a bride’s bold and ready to experiment 😍.
And our ichayan matched Christina by choosing the white shirt and blue denim combination which is a classic in the realms of being both smart and casual at the same time. For this very reason, this is a trend I believe that’ll never go out of fashion.
For the engagement, our bride chose a North Indian theme and all out they went. Christina chose to wear this stunning peach pink lehenga ensemble from Zatin Designers, Kochi. The beauty of this outfit lies in how she chose to get it crafted .The blouse is embellished with pearls, rhinestones and sugar beads and is paired with hand embroidered pearl stones and golden zardosi mottifs worked flared skirt. To complete the look, she paired it with a net shawl of the same color with pearl works on the edges and jewellery from Goodwill Collections, Kochi .And her lovely makeup was done by Makeover Salon Lounge,Kochi.
Our dashing groom chose to compliment Christina by opting for a touch of modernity in his Indian attire by choosing a classic beige indo western sherwani and cream coloured patiala from Manyavar, Kochi. I love how he jazzed up the look up by wearing red jutties.
The engagement day also had elements that’ll just warm up your hearts which was done by the talented Blue Mermaid Events, Kochi . Your big day is a celebration with loved one, so it’s only natural to want to include your dear ones and family who’ve passed away. I was so touched by how Christina choose to remember her family members who’ve passed away. Arranging a thoughtful memory table with flowers and framed portraits is a great way to make a particular corner a special commemorative corner that guests can go and light a candle on and that is exactly what they chose to do. Such a beautiful way to acknowledge your loved ones presence ❤️.
On the night before the wedding, there is an age old religious ritual called madhura veepu followed by Christians all over in Kerala. It’s basically a get together of relatives and friends before the marriage and an occasion to celebrate the bride and groom. And celebrate they did indeed. For her madhura veepu, Christina chose to have a traditional ‘Kerala Nasrani Theme’
While her stunning mom and family decked themselves out in the traditional chatta and mundu, Christina chose to go a little different to blend in and yet blend out. She picked out this gorgeous bottle green crop top worked with golden cutwork on the bodice designed and done by her bestie Rithu Geogy who breathes and designs clothes out of her love for fashion.
It was paired with a panelled bottle green skirt to lend a subtle appearance. She completed this ensemble with a maang tikka which she reused from her engagement day. Now, I love a bride who multi-uses 😍. A pointer for all you thrifty brides out there. You don’t always need to shop a galore of jewellery down for all your functions. A little bit of mix and match can go a long way and no one would even notice.
And psst, for those of you looking, our dashing hero hasn’t made an appearance. This is just a celebration of the bride done by the brides family 😃.
For the wedding, our brides’ choice will take your breath away. It’s different and she’s dabbled with a color rarely seen on brides which I love. She wore this enchanting blush pink pearl embellished gown from Paris De Boutique, Kochi which was paired beautifully with a diamond necklace and drop earrings from Tbz,Kochi. And her gorgeous makeup was done again by Makeover Salon Lounge,Kochi.
Now for most men, their first instinct would be to grab a black tux or a grey suit but our groom took the road less trodden. He decked himself out in a tweed jacket,grey vest, a colorful print bowtie and a crisp white shirt from Canada . If you’re someone new to tweed, this is one of those materials that can effortlessly jump between casual and smart which is what we see on Dilu.
Now for the reception, Christina again picked out a color, I’ve rarely seen on brides. She changed into this gorgeous deep violet vadamali flower color(quoting the bride herself) kancheepuran silk sari with antique temple work all over from Seemati,Kochi and the gorgeous antique jewellery she’s sporting are from Bhima Jewellers, Kochi.
And a huge shout to Sharon from Sharon Scribbles who doodled up Christina and Dilu for their wedding invites .I absolutely love it when brides and their family are willing to take a more a relaxed stand when it comes to the invites than the traditional ones we always come across.
A special mention also needs to go to the photography team Ever After Wedding Filmers,Kochi who were behind capturing Christina and Dilu’s big days. As someone who knows Christina, this is one woman I can vouch who has a lot of joy bouncing right off her and they’ve managed to capture her very essence in every picture they’ve clicked.
