Reshma & Atul

I’m always on the lookout for weddings. So whenever someone remotely mentions anything related to a wedding, I jump on it right away. I love hearing and talking about the process of planning the BIG DAY. In some cases, it’s the brides who take care of the whole I DO PREPS and in other cases; it’s the mother or sibling of the bride. Now my personal favorite is when the family shares in. I love when mothers bring in their input and their own taste too and what you get then is what you’ll see in today’s wedding 😄.

Now there are so many elements that I am crushing on today and you’ll soon see why as you read on 😄. I’m pretty sure all my bridezilla’s will be taking down notes from this wedding for it was so impeccably planned and done.

Meet our breathtaking bride and her super duper cute husband, Reshma and Atul. Now this one celebration, where I can’t seem to choose my favorite ensemble or my favourite element ❤️. For her engagement, Reshma stepped out in a stunning bright pink pure banarasi silk sari with zari woven foliage designs all over on the body embellished with a golden zeri border from Signora, Chennai.

There’s something about Reshma’s look that reminds me so much of the yesteryear vintage actresses. So subtle and yet so elegant. What truly completes the look is the stunning choker piece that she’s sporting (my personal favorite ❤️) from Anita Dongre. Reshma’s stunning mother flew all the way down to Mumbai on her strive to find that perfect jewellery and it just paid off. We all know who to be stealing from this wedding 😎. As someone who personally knows Reshma’s mother, I can vouch that this is one woman with impeccable and elegant taste 😄.

For her makeup, our belle chose to place herself in the hands of the very known Jolly from Jolly’s Hollywood Saloon, Kottayam. From updos to beachy waves, as a bride-to-be you’re bombarded with multiple possibilities on how to style your hair for your big day. But whichever style you go for, there’s one crucial part you should make sure not to neglect- the humidity 😉. As we all know and have felt 😆, humidity levels are often pretty high in Kerala and many a times you’ll end up looking like a frenzied bee hive if you’re not in an air conditioned environment (story of my life 🙄). So your safest bet will be to go for an updo. Today there are so many different options for updos from classic styles, to avant-garde takes, to romantic and soft looks or something more elegant so choose accordingly to your taste.

Our super-duper cute boy was dressed to the nines in a Nehru jacket attire from 108 Bespoke, Bangalore. I think one can dress up or down with a Nehru jacket and you can also choose one with prints or patterns to stand out in an otherwise simple outfit.  And sometimes simple is the best way to go.

9Their stage décor for the engagement is one that truly delivers a rustic vibe. Our bride was very particular on wanting white lilies and ferns everywhere and that is exactly what the famous Paranashala, Kottayam delivered. They are immensely popular and it’s easy to see why. Today a lot  of brides and grooms are cozying up to the warm minimalistic trend of ferns and flowers and I personally couldn’t be in love more 😍.

For the wedding, our stunner went the cream route and it really paid off.  Today bridal choices are bordering between bold and pastel colours and I love each of them . But personally I always lean towards choosing the colours that suits you and makes you feel the prettiest. Reshma stepped out in this stunning cream banarasi silk saree with antique gold zari floral thread work on the body along with a thick gold zeri border from Lakshmi, Chennai.

Her stunning hair and makeup was done once again by Jolly Hollywood Saloon, Kottayam. Often there are little details that may seem simple enough to take care of yourself in order to save on your budget, which may be true. But there’s one thing you definitely shouldn’t skimp on and that’s a wedding hair and makeup artist 💡. Now a beautiful piece of jewellery is the finishing touch to an outfit and what better than this stunning one layered diamond necklace and earrings from Kirthilal, Kochi.

And not to forget our cutie, Atul. Now this is one groom who scores on the groom-o-meter for a lot of reasons 😄. One, Atul chose to complement our bride in a gorgeous black suit paired with a purple vest and bow tie from Fort St George, Chennai. I REPEAT- PURPLE 😍. I absolutely adore that he chose to tread from the usual whites and silver and went with a bright colour. Two, I love how he looks at our belle, right into her eyes. The only time my husband looks this deep into my eyes, is probably to tell me ‘let’s order pizza 😂’. And three, if you look closely, you’ll see that Atul is wearing a cross brooch on his suit. I’ve seen flowers, boutonnières, pocket squares but a cross brooch is something truly distinct.  Don’t you think so?

Remember me saying, I love when mothers pitch into a wedding and rightfully so. Reshma is blessed not only to have a mother with impeccable taste but also a mother in law with the same 😊. I guess it’s fair to say, their décor is my absolute favorite especially since a lot of the elements are handmade and made with love just for our bride and groom ❤️.

Their wedding theme was a blend of ‘lotuses’ and ‘parrots’. Quick trivia. Parrots mate for life and I love the thought behind the inclusion of parrots. Often, there’s to more to what meet the eye 😉.

Hanging flowers at weddings always gets me excited and, if you ask me, more couples should look it up if you’re looking into creating a statement décor. Finding wedding inspirations isn’t always easy. Although there’s no shortage of great ideas out there, it is often hard to figure out what works together. But with a vision in mind, Reshma’s talented mother in law set up of all this stunning-ness together ❤️.

The big day is all about little touches and eye-catching centerpieces are a must for memorable décor. Although bouquets of flowers are just fine, you can spend less money and have more fun by making your own decorations. These stunning little jars with parrots perched on baby pink lotuses were done by our dapper boy’s dear family member and daughter. Modern and minimal, these centerpieces are an ode to the love that these two share 💑.

A special mention also needs to go to the lotus ring holder and the boat decoration (on stage) which were made by this fabulous duo again. Check out this mother daughter’s duo’s stunning work at Handmade Handmade where they do everything from paper crafts to whatever your creative heart desires and do not forget to show them some love ❤️.

By now it’s no secret that I love anything that’s hand made and especially ones as beautiful as these. As a part of their stunning décor, Atul’s very talented and gifted aunt who owns Bottle Green Gallery (Yep, they’re one talented family 😃 . Talk about girl power 😉) put together this hand painted lotus mural for all their friends and family to sign, creating a framed memory to witness and cherish their special day. Doesn’t the thought and creativity behind everything in this wedding, just leave you awestruck 🤩?

Something that truly took my breath away were these beautiful hand painted wedding invitations done again by Atul’s aunt of Bottled Green. Custom hand painted wedding invitations are a great step towards creating a wonderfully unique and personal wedding memory and as you look at them, it is easy to see the profound amount of skill and dedication that she professes. Imagine the delight of every wedding invitee who gets to treasure this hand crafted beauty 😍.Do not forget to check out this gorgeously talented woman’s page to show her some love.

Today’s blog post seems to be all about women power and rightfully so. All of these stunning pictures were captured by a team of talented photographers but someone who truly stood out to me was Pooja Joseph. Women photographers are rare, but the plot truly is progressing on a hopeful note and maybe someday we’ll be able to see a team of just women clicking away. The more women we see following their passions and interests- the more we can learn right 😊?

Also, a definite mention  needs to be given to D Photographers,Kochi who captured all of their engagement and wedding glory in the most authentic and raw-est form. I love how aesthetically they encapsulated their big day and this photography teams deserves all the praise for it. Don’t forget to watch it and go ‘aww’ over this adorable couple. We need more grooms who make us go aww for sure 😄.Well, a woman can hope 😉

And last not but the least, my favorite bit – COUPLE FACT 😍. Lately, I’ve started to ask all my brides to tell me a lil something that stands out from their memory. Some of my brides talk about the courtship phase, some talk about falling in love after their marriage and some talk about knowing it was right, right away.

Our bride talked to me about finding love. Falling in love at first sight is the holy grail for every romantic (ME ME 😉) but finding love is often OVERLOOKED. I think finding love can be simultaneously beautiful, difficult and rewarding at the same time and the best place to be starting a relationship is being willing to accept all the challenges that come along with two entirely different people building a life together ❤️. One that can be build with resolve and understanding and love will find its way 🤗.

Let’s wish this gorgeous couple a lifetime of everlasting love and happiness, shall we 😘?
