Ritu & Antony

Every time I come across a wedding, something lights up in me💡. And let me tell you, this happens every single time. There’s something about watching a bride walk down the aisle to meet her man, holding the very hands that held her first, that makes my heart melt ❤️.

Often I get asked what it is that I love the most about in weddings? Although the question should be “what is there not to love in weddings 😍” but hands down what wins me over always are the small things. Watching the bride and groom see each other the first time, friends fawning over the bride and most importantly seeing the parents tear up when their children say their vows. So if you ever see a woman looking all over the place and smiling randomly, you can bet your money that woman is me, just savoring in the moments 😁. After all, it is rightfully said for a reason “we do not remember days, we remember the moments”.

Now let’s head onto visiting some moments of today’s gorgeous wedding and couple. Meet our stunning dancing duo, Ritu and Antony. Today’s wedding truly has a lot of elements that’ll get you off your feet, bust a move or two and if you’re as clumsy as me 😄, probably fall but you’ll get back on your feet and walk right into planning a wedding as gorgeous as this one and you’ll see why as you read on ❤️.

For their fixation ceremony, Ritu stepped out in this gorgeous black number from Jayalakshmi, Kochi. If you know me well, you’ll know that I have deep love for details. I LOVE that Ritu chose such an elegant but yet effortless ensemble for her big day. The cherry on the top truly is the intricate embroidery on the neckline that extends along to the back. I think the perfect addition was the updo allowing it to shine through.

Personally I think every bride needs a little assistance on their big day. There are so many details that may seem enough to take care of yourself which may be true but one thing you definitely shouldn’t skimp on is your hair and makeup artist.

They see what we don’t and they definitely know what they’re doing. But what I also do think brides need to be mindful of is to walk in knowing what you want. The gorgeous updo that our belle is sporting was one done specifically by Lucy Ipe on request keeping in mind the outfit and the weather. Who said being a bride is easy 😏?

For their engagement, our belle stepped out in a stunning rare colour that needs to be seen more often on brides. Knowing precisely what she wanted – a banarasi silk saree, she went on a scout literally and found the one she loved (besides the husband 😇) at Tanera, Bangalore.

Incidentally, Ritu had the colour red in mind but when she came across this gorgeous teal kancheepuram sari, she was won over and decided to budge. Remember the key is to be open to change. Often brides go in with a set idea in mind and find it extremely difficult to see beyond the vision and further adding to the stress of planning a wedding. So keep an open mind and remember the whole point is to look your EXQUISITE BEST so a little change hurts no one 💪.

Dressing up and looking your very best is what takes TOP priority for any bride, and jewellery is an indispensable part of it. This gorgeous jewellery sported by our beauty is courtesy of Kirthi Diamonds, Kochi. Also, I love the addition of the simple bindi to complete the look.

With his bride-to-be looking so alluring, our dapper boy stepped up his game and chose to shine in this striking deep maroon Nehru jacket paired with a silk black kurta. Named after our first Prime Minister, this style today is one to look out for. Also, doesn’t our dapper groom-to-be bestow the right amount of inspiration for my fellow bridezilla’s to ask their grooms to stock up on these 🔥.

Now nobody loves an aesthetically done décor more than I do. I think putting together subtlety and elegance truly is work and needs to be appreciated more. A huge shout out to Cameo Events & Weddings, Thrissur for bringing in such an elegance to their décor with this subtle play of fairy lights and flowers.

Now this stunning duo’s wedding was one that truly won me over for a lot of reasons. Also, one that flooded my inbox after so many of you came across Ritu’s stunning  one-of-a-kind wedding attire.

For their wedding, our belle stepped out in this gorgeous ivory lehenga. It isn’t often I get to see a Malayali bride treading a different path and rightfully so for this is one trend that I see catching on. Stepping out with a bridal lehenga idea in mind, our belle set out to Samyakk, Bangalore recommended by the sister in law. And behold, this gorgeous ivory sequin lehenga was the one she chose and doesn’t it just take your breath away?

If you ask me, the true beauty of an Indian ensemble is in its versality. Be it a sari or a lehenga or even a salwar suit, you can drape them in so many ways to create your own personal fashion statement. A win-win for sure💃.

Our stunner’s gorgeous makeup and drape was done by the talented Mini of Beauty Touch, Thrissur.  What truly won me over was the grace exuded by our belle in this gorgeous ensemble ❤️.

Now remember, your wedding jewellery is as important as your wedding attire in creating the look you desire and nothing makes your wedding day sparkle more than jewellery designed and made with love by your mother. These gorgeous baubles and chandelier earrings were custom made from Kirthi Diamonds, Kochi. Clearly, good taste runs in this family 🤩.

To match his beautiful belle, Antony was all tux-ed up in a deep blue satin tux with black lapels 🔥. The cherry on top being the black bow tie. Don’t they both make such a striking pair together?

Also, special brownie points to our dapper boy for choosing a colour that compliments the ivory lehenga sported by Ritu so beautifully. Now who said being a groom was easy (could be me😉)?

Nothing beats fairy lights for me till you mention flowers ❤️. If you’re a bride to be looking at ideas on how to incorporate floral decorations throughtout the wedding celebration, then look no further.

Something that is often overlooked in terms of décor is the aisle you walk down. Remember you’re going to make the trip twice – down to meet your man and the second being when you exit as newlyweds with your man, of course 😄. So perhaps, the wedding aisle décor is something that needs to be thought about more.

Another way to spruce your big day up is to decorate the church entrance with a flower arch. Today floral arches are so much in vogue and as a bonus, they look amazing in photographs 😍. Our couple truly thought it all out.

Their stunning décor was done by the talented folks at Dream Florists & Decorators, Thrissur. Now if you’re someone who loves the look of all white-blooms then this one is for you. Aesthetically placed flowers with candles and fairylights were the highlight of this wedding décor. Remember a little goes a long way and paying a little attention to your wedding décor can really add ambience and make your day, all the more special.

Today the best of celebrations contain unique touches. The wedding dance, once a novelty in Kerala, is today a hallmark of the love and joy shared by the newly weds. And I for one, sure ain’t complaining 😍.

Their wedding video was one where I grinned throughout the entire time . There’s always something about witnessing joy that leaves you with a smile to carry on ❤️.

Their special day was captured stunningly by Thomas David, Photography. A huge shout out to the man behind the lens for capturing the very essence of their big day. Also, don’t forget to check out these two love birds setting the floor on fire 🔥.

Last but not the least, COUPLE FACT. Now marriage with someone you have never known can be quite intimidating. Ritu and Antony were firm believers in the concept of love marriages and knowing someone in and out but destiny is quite funny sometimes 😄. It takes us a different route but we end up at the desired destination. Holding steadfast to their concept of knowing a person in and out, our couple decided to give each other a chance. A chance that changed their lives.

What people often forget is that love happens in many stages. The early days are not always love in an arranged marriage but what does happen is you to get to know if there’s a click or not 😊. A click of friendship, click of respect and a click of acceptance for each other. What I’m sure about is, this applies to every form of love. Be it an arranged marriage or a love marriage. We all start from ACQUAINTENCES to LOVE and it is what keeps us together. Pretty much the same, ain’t it? Remember, same destination but different roads ❤️.

Also, our dancing duo are celebrating 365 days of wedded bliss today. Let’s send some special love and wishes their way, shall we 😍? To more love and more dancing the nights away 💃.

And as always, if you have any questions for me regarding this post or otherwise, you know what to do 😄. Don’t forget to show us some love on our Instagram handle @epokalyanam and Facebook page @epokalyanam.theblog. And please feel free to drop me in a message if you love what you read and see. I always love hearing from you all. Psst, by doing so you’ll be absolutely making my day.

❤️,

Elza
