Sherin & Sachin

So many adjectives are used to define woman of today. I hear kind, sweet, thoughtful but also those aren’t often the only words I hear. A lot of the times, I’ve heard the word catty being thrown around 😑.

When men argue, it’s deemed as a hearty debate but when women argue, it’s nothing short of a cat fight. Which is weird, right 🤨? Disagreeing isn’t a fundamental female behavior. Men disagree and hash things out all the time. The disparity is that when they do it, nobody ridicules them with the imagery of cats clawing and hissing at one another.

Now if you’re wondering what led to this ramble 😄. Honestly nothing 😄. As a blogger, I get to meet a lot of women who inspire me and today are dear friends. Kind and thoughtful is who today’s bride is and that’s what got me thinking 😄 so here we are 💪.

Let’s get down to business, shall we peeps 😄? Fellow readers of Epo Kalayanam, say hello to today’s beautiful couple, Sherin and Sachin. For their engagement, our belle stepped out looking like a dream in a number that I honestly haven’t seen much around ❤️.

With pastels  being quite the rage, our stunner choose to go the tested route but with a twist. Wanting to incorporate her love for pastels but with the desire to be different, Sherin went on quite the hunt all over Kochi which finally halted at T & M, Kochi.

She chose this beautiful dreamy, wispy muted pink gown accentuated with these cape sleeves with french knot embroidery done on suggestion of the mother-in-law. Remember when stepping out to choose your ensembles, choose a wise ally and for our belle she found one in her very own mother in law. Hearing Sherin gush over Sachin’s mom left me feeling all warm and fuzzy. Like a warm hug and that is exactly how she puts it. Keeping in mind Sherin’s choices and putting forth subtle suggestion, truly our stunner’s mom-in-law has won me over 😍.

What really pulls your entire look together is always the makeup. Now if you’re a bride whose all about the natural “no makeup” look on their big day, then Sherin serves the right amount of inspiration your way ❤️. With skin looking like skin and makeup that accentuated her beauty, her stunning makeup was done by the talented Shiney of Dew Drops, Trivandrum.

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. You’ve all most likely heard of this rhyme before. Now the big question is what does it actually mean 🤔? This lil rhyme is something that originated from England and it symbolizes luck for the bride on her wedding day with specifically each “something” representing an item to be given to the lucky bride ❤️.

Sherin’s something borrowed came from her very own sister-in-law who pitched in with these gorgeous teal earrings solving her dilemma to finding that perfect pair of baubles. On a side note, the “something borrowed” usually needs to come from a family member or a friend of the bride who is happily married. The reason for this being that their sense of happiness and love will transfer over onto the new bride and it sure did. What cements the bond of love more than knowing you have a sister in your new family to be who has your back 😍?

While Sherin glowed away, our dapper boy was quite the sight to behold himself. What really left me grinning was how candid our belle was while recounting her big day. A lil groom fact about our handsome boy is that he wrapped up his entire engagement shopping in a span of two hours 💪. Despite being quick and savvy, our groom for sure didn’t compromise on the choice though 😍.

Now no one can deny that the fashion of today is sometimes a derivation from the past. The Nehru suit with its distinct features is a requisite look in every groom’s collection. Complimenting his wife to be, Sachin chose a rouge Nehru Jacket paired with a mauve pink shirt. Don’t you think they both make such a gorgeous pair together?

When it comes to designing your big day, it can be quite tempting to go a bit overboard. After all, there are so many choices available and resisting all that can be quite tough. But there’s just something about understated décor done right that is hard to resist. Giving good old Pinterest a whirl, our stunner was armed with ideas and preferences before she sat down with Mary Vimala who bought forth to life what she had set her heart on ❤️.

Décor and flower go together like cake and frosting but remember flowers don’t make the décor and I say this as someone who adores flowers. The key is not to forgo blooms altogether but rather use elements like lighting and lanterns if a clean elegant décor is more like your cup of tea which was exactly the vibe our belle desired and got.

“How does one go about choosing a wedding ensemble?” is one of the most frequently asked questions my way. And I understand the dilemma for a wedding is one of the most important days of your life. Every bride wishes to feel beautiful on their big day and want to look their stunning best.

Now if you’ve already chosen your mode of ensemble between a gown or a sari, the next choice to be made is the colour. Remember while traditions may dictate that a bride is to be dressed in a certain colour (HINT- WHITE 😉) at the end of the day it is always about you. And to be honest, a bride can look stunning in any colour that she wears. Validating my sentiments, Sherin stepped out in this gorgeous mauve netted sari embellished all over with intricate lace work and pearls from Seemati, Kochi ❤️.

Again the credits need to be shared with Sherin’s mother-in-law who suggested treading differently rather than going with the usual pallet of colours. Isn’t she just amazing 😍? On that very note, a huge shout to all the mother-in-laws out there who go out of their way to welcome their daughter in laws with open hands 😍. A change of any sorts can be terrifying but knowing there awaits not only the man of your dreams but also a kind, beautiful mother to look out for you sure is something special 🥰.

Completing her beautiful ensemble were these gorgeous one layered necklace and stud earrings from Swarovski brought in all the way from Kuwait by her sister especially for the big day. If muted elegance is more your cup of tea over the bling of gold and silver then Swarovski needs to be your go to choice.

When it comes to the groom’s fashion, the suit is a classic piece that’s stood the test of time. However, picking out a suit is only half the battle as choosing the right colour and the shirt and tie combos to go with it can be a challenge on its own. Luckily, I’m here to help (#shamelessselfplug) 😉 and so is our groom 😄. Complimenting his beautiful wife in this dapper navy blue suit from Hugo Boss, Sachin won me over by choosing a colour that flatters Sherin’s unique wedding sari – navy blue 🔥.

Now if you’re dressing up in your first navy blue suit and are unsure of what colour shirt to pair it with then look no further than our dapper boy here. Adding a subtle difference to his classic look was the addition of this light lavender shirt. The light colour balances out the navy in the blue while allowing him to colour coordinate with his belle. And a lil pro tip from our dapper boy to all the grooms out there – get the fit right. When it comes to the groom, how your suit fits is what makes or breaks the deal. Often, men just buy a suit off the rack of a reputed brand without even considering about the fit. A well fitted suit will not only give you great panache but will also give you that extra aplomb 🔥.

When it comes to wedding décor, there’s so many ideas to choose from. Choosing a décor that’s aesthetic, cohesive and resonating of your taste requires a good deal of planning but it sure is worth it in the end.

Stepping in was Sachin’s sister with a suggestion of a “tree of hearts” to symbolize and celebrate their love. If you’re someone planning a wedding with lots of personal touches, then take notes people. Hearts are a classic symbol of love and nothing says love more than lots of them ❤️. And nothing symbolizes love more than a tree. Now if you’re wondering why, let me quote the words spoken by a wise man “Love is like a tree: it grows by itself deeply in our being and continues to flourish and puts down deep roots into our whole being”. Need I say more 😇?

For their reception, our beautiful changed into this gorgeous magenta silk kancheepuram sari with thick golden zari border and tying up the entire attire were these stunning jewellery from Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Trivandrum. And not to forget, all of their stunning pictures were captured by the talented folks at Crew6 Projects, Kochi

And last but not the least, time for my favorite, COUPLE FACT. Choosing a life partner is one of the most important decisions you make in life.

Most of us have a lengthy list of traits that describe our perfect man and vice versa. Smart, kind and humorous are some of the words that I hear often but it isn’t often I get to hear someone give credits to the gene pool as well 😍. Our belle mentioned how much she loves his sense of humor that he gets from his dad and his kind heart that he gets from his mom and I for one couldn’t stop grinning 😄.

What people often overlook is once you’ve actually involved in a relationship, some of these traits become more important than the others. Often people feel a strong spark of sorts at the beginning but what keeps that spark going is nurturing it with kindness and laughter helping you to weather any storm that comes your way. Quite simple, isn’t it?

Now let’s send this adorable duo many more years of love and friendship for reminding us something so overlooked yet so significant, shall we ❤️?

And as always, if you have any questions for me regarding this post or otherwise, you know what to do 😄. Don’t forget to show us some love on our Instagram handle  @epokalyanam and Facebook page @epokalyanam.theblog. And please feel free to drop me in a message if you love what you read and see. I always love hearing from you all. Psst, by doing so you’ll be absolutely making my day.
