Raaga & Paul

Cover Picture.jpg

One of my favorite things about being a wedding blogger is getting to meet so many brides and have my breath taken away every single time. I REPEAT- EVERY SINGLE TIME. There’s something about a well thought bride that makes hearts pop out of my eyes 😍. Clearly, I was destined to be a wedding blogger 😇.

Meet our stunning couple of today, Raaga and Paul. Also, I’ve mentioned a gazillion times my love for unique names and “Raaga” for sure has won me over. Random fact about our belle’s name. This was a name her dad had set his heart on even before she was born. He clearly knew he had to pick out a special name for his special one ❤️.

For their oripikals, Raaga stepped out in this subtle but elegant attire from Salt Studio, KochiOur belle choose this beautiful peach pastel anarkali with an illusion neckline and golden embellished yolk. Truly pastel colors have won over the bridal world and for all the right reasons

To harmonize with his Raaga 😉, Paul chose a mellow blue Nehru jacket ensemble. Don’t they just make such a stunning couple?

And not to forget, adding the finishing touch to their special day were Thomas David Photography and Aravind Thomas Photography capturing their love so beautifully.

Also, if you’re someone who is sucker for love and seeing people wear their hearts on their sleeves, this lil snippet into their orapeer will hit you right in the feels 💘.

Now, if you’re brainstorming how to bring romance and pastels into your outfit, look no further. Our stunner’s outfit is the answer to the big dilemma. Pastels and lace can truly blend together to create a delicate, cohesive scheme that’ll appease the romanticist in you. For their engagement, taking the social media by storm, Raaga stepped out in this beautiful custom made tiffany blue lace lehenga from The Little Black Bow, Mumbai who put together so beautifully our belle’s vision of Victorian and contemporary fusion. It isn’t often I get to see brides step out in such an exquisite number and boy am I won over ❤️!

And of course, let’s not forget the jewellery. Jewellery forms one of the most indispensable parts of one’s big day. Let’s face it; out of everything that happens on the D Day, the jewellery always takes us back as a reminder of the event. So it’s always important you plan your jewellery and spend time purchasing exactly what you want.

When it comes to jewellery, no other piece of gemstone is like opal. These beauties are known for their fiery displays of colours that can change right before one’s eyes. Opals are known to shine from within due to their unique properties and these magnificent jewels are something you rarely see used in India. Truly its exclusivity and fire are what inspired our stunner to go down the road less trodden. And let’s just say when the result is one such so sweet, one shouldn’t hesitate.

2Making her fiery dreams into reality was her husband himself who comes from a family whose been in the jewellery industry since time immemorial . Each and every bauble you see on our stunner was custom made with both their conceptions brought to life at their very own exquisite CJ Artisan Boutique, Thrissur.

What took Raaga’s stunning-ness to the next level was the makeup done by the ever talented Jaanmoni Das. The contrast of the warm pink against the pastel is truly eye catching and yet not too striking to seem mismatched.  Fellow women, this is why I’ll say this till the end of time – A MUA can make or break the deal so choose wisely 💪!

7.jpgThere’s something intrinsically magical about an heirloom engagement ring. From its one-of-a-kind appearance to its rich history to its sentimental value, it truly adds magic to the big day. An heirloom might just be a little piece of family history to some, but it will always have a special meaning for one generation to pass down to the next. Something to cherish and something to pass along to your own children and grandchildren. This beauty of a diamond was passed onto Paul by his Dad to give to the love of his life. I guess it’s fair to call it generations of love all in that one single solitaire. On that very note, don’t you think Paul just found his biggest diamond of all – his Raaga 😉?

While his beautiful wife-to-be dazzled in lace and pastel, Paul was quite the sight to behold himself in sharply tailored tux paired with a subtly textured white shirt and a black bow tie. Special brownie points on the groom-o-meter for choosing to tread differently with the textured shirt. Such a subtle addition to the asthetic-ness but totally changes the game.

12.jpgSpeaking of asthetic-ness.  No one could have done a better job at encapsulating their big day than the talented Pooja Joseph who added the right blend of asthetic-ness and beauty to their special day.

Along with your wedding attire, your wedding décor is one of the best ways to let your personalities truly shine on your big day. Remember, décor is not just about flowers and colour schemes. It is what creates and sets the stage for every event so it always helps if you have a vision in mind.

Getting engaged by the beach was the theme of their engagement. Sadly the rains in Kerala put a damper on that but refusing to back down (WOMAN POWER 💪), the décor was moved to the insides while keeping the essence the very same. What you’ll see is a stunning nautical themed décor done beautifully by the talented Mary Vimala. Special mention needs to go the beautiful attention to detail. If you look closely, you’ll see the magic of the sea in treasure troves, anchors and soft pastel colors.

One of my personal favorite traditions in the Christian community is the Madhuramvepu. Celebrated on the eve before the wedding, it is a day filled with rituals and celebrations with your closest loved ones. For her Madhuramvepu, Raaga chose this beautiful olive green embroidered crop top and palazzo pants from Salt Studio, Kochi. Now with so many styles and choices, choosing an ensemble can be a lil tricky. You can choose to go the bling route or for a more subtle elegant look like Raaga did. One can also jazz up the outfit by adding a big bow on the back which was done especially on request and doesn’t it add such pizaaz ⭐?

Pro tip for all my bridezilla’s, crop tops can be doubled up as blouses and palazzo’s can be mixed and matched with other tops. Multi tasking is the way to go!

Raaga’s and Paul wedding was one that’ll stop you right on your tracks. For the wedding, Raaga walked down the aisle in a breathtaking ivory bronze gold kancheepuram sari. Resolute on wearing a sari, our belle went all over Kerala in hunt of that perfect and she finally found the one (besides Paul 😄) at Silkway boutique, Kochi. Adding the finishing touch to her stunning ensemble were this breathtaking coral necklace and earrings custom made with love from CJ Artisan Boutique, Kochi.       21.jpg

The cherry on the cake was the stunning makeup done  again by Jaanmoni Das who requires no further introduction in the wedding realm. Raaga mentioned to me how she was nothing but a dream to work with and extremely patient by trying on different looks till they found the one. And it doesn’t get any better than that, does it?

23.jpgIn tune with his Raaga (Word play disease alert 😇), Paul chose the traditional kurta and Kerala mundu along with a kasavu dupatta on his shoulders. Fun fact about our handsome groom, along with his impeccable taste in everything, he also happens to be a dancer, drummer and entrepreneur.  He comes from a family with a deep rooted history in jewellery which is a passion shared by Raaga as well which you can clearly see. Truly like two peas in a pod, right ❤️?

25.jpgToday’s wedding truly has all the elements to make a noteworthy one. The attention paid to detail and décor is makes me so happy as a wedding blogger.

It is amazing how something as simple as flowers and attention to detail can drastically enhance the vibe and demeanor. From the wedding bouquet to fairy lights clothed over the church entrance to the personalized wedding aisle runner, I think it’s fair to say everything was on fleek 😄. A special mention to Dream Decorators for doing such a fabulous job.

One of the amazing things about celebrations and traditions is how they can be implemented so differently. For their reception, Raaga looked nothing short of a princess. By now it’s no secret, my love for mothers stepping in with a difference. The stunning lehenga worn by our belle was a choice by Paul’s mother and isn’t it just so breathtaking? Having a mother in law who looks out for you, it cannot get any sweeter than that 😍!

The vibe they were going for was of a regal princess and they definitely hit the nail on the head. Raaga chose to wear a custom made blood red lehenga embellished all over with silver zardozi by Jayanti Reddy, Hyderabad. This stunning ensemble was a runway look modified to our bride’s request. Pro tip for all my bridezilla’s, you can always work on designs to your liking with your designers to your preferences so fret not. While his Raaga looked like a true princess, Paul was in perfect harmony with his queen in his bespoke navy bandhgala suit custom made.

Also, a huge shout out to 123 Wedding Album, Kochi for capturing their wedding and reception in all its glory.

Now after the hustle and bustle of the big day, breakfast in bed would be nice but a brunch with the wedding bunch could be even better 😄(See what I did there 😎). A post wedding brunch can be a great way to thank your guests and spend a little more time with your loved ones.

For their quaint brunch party, our dashing duo stepped looking quite the pair. While Raaga chose a gorgeous custom made white cape crop top with a pink tutu skirt, Paul was dressed to the nines in a custom made beige linen suit paired with a wooden handmade bow tie ❤️. My  love for details has gone to a whole different level thanks to this duo 😍. I cannot tell you guys how much I’ve drooled over all their outfits and baubles. Let’s just say the wedding blogger in me is beyond happy.

And now time for my absolute favorite, COUPLE FACT. Love stories can be so different for every couple. For some its love at first sight, for some its years of friendship that paves way for love and for some they have their very own cupid. Raaga’s and Paul’s love story is a take on the quintessential arranged marriage.

Raaga was introduced to Paul through her uncle who knew right away these two were meant to be and right after they met, sparks flew and here we are. Here’s to all the cupids in all the families who know what’s best and for paving the way for a new take on arranged marriages. A new take but one that ends in the same result – LOVE.

Now, lets all join in raising our glasses to Raaga and Paul, shall we 😄? Let’s all toast to the incredibly exciting road that awaits them with love.
